Weeeeird.

Hey bloggers!
While I was hanging out with my family on this rainy, windy night, I was starting the think of the Mythbusters episode where they try to walk across the cornstarch and water mixture. Do you remember that one? Well, anyways, I thought that a in-between-solid-and-liquid mixture could possibly be a cool material to work into my projects..
Boy was I wrong.
The mixture is rock hard until you touch it, and then it automatically transforms into a liquid. Making it IMPOSSIBLE to work with or clean up. However, it incredibly fun to play around with :) Well, I figured I might as well show you this failure/accomplishment :) Enjoy!

Until next time,

Sketch #3

Hey bloggers!
Here is one of my fast little sketches I tend to do while laying in bed before I go to sleep :) this one wasn't one of my favorites but I thought I might as well share it anyway :)

Be back soon,
McKenna K.

Something Different.

So, bloggers, lately I have been mainly focusing on the sketching aspect of my artist life. I love to do so many more things that I decided to share one of my photography elements that I just finished recently.
But first you need a little bit of background information about this piece. While watching the ABC Family show, Switched at Birth, I fell in love with the captivating language of ASL. I have always been interested in that language but i never truly tried to further my knowledge into the deaf community; until now. I started taking ASL 1 class and I fell in love all over again & I even started to consider entering the interpreter track.
So, in honor of my new found love and Switched at Birth returning to the small screen, I created this photo montage. My fingers spell out "I Love You," and I am wicked excited to share this one with the blogger community. :) Enjoy!

Until next time,
McKenna K.

I am OFFICIALLY famous.

Hey Bloggers!
I have some pretty exciting news for the McKenna K Designs Production. I was retweeted by the Astronomical Kid (yes, that amazing rapper from the X Factor) with one of my doodles attached to the tweet! I sketched out this unique doodle the night that he was voted off, much to my dismay & I have tweeted it a few times.. and know i am officially FAMOUS.
Make sure to look for his debut album to drop, and I am hoping it is incredibly soon!! :)

Love always,
McKenna

p.s. The second attached picture is the actual doodle :)

Starting Over.

Hey Bloggers! I am going to start by apologizing for the wide-spread blog posts. I have been incredibly busy and I never have really found the time to free a space in my schedule to do so.

However, with the start of the new year vastly approaching, i am making sure that I blogs close to everyday of 2012.

Doodling and drawing always seems to find a way for me to escape my otherwise-hectic-and-boring lifestyle. For this new year, I plan to open my eyes and broaden my horizons into the world of sketching, shading, and painting. I always start so many projects that typically get pushed aside at the first sign of something better.

So, to kick start my new artistic & knowledgable awakening, here is a simple tree. I have always told myself that i was never a good enough drawer to sketch a life-like tree. By I am beginning the battle of my thoughts and myself, starting today, DECEMBER 27, 2011.

Until next time bloggers,
McKenna K.

{A New Beginning}

Welcome to my blog!
For as long as I can remember, I have loved to doodle on anything I could reach. I have always thought my drawings and new realms I created where okay, but I've always wanted to extend my drawing and writing ablilties to there potential. So, I am here to do a sketch/poem/short story/doodles each day to improve the way I see things, and the way I intrepret them.
This is one of my favorite things to draw: My Name! I sketch it when I am bored in class or on the back of an envelope when I am talking on the phone. This is a new style that I had adapted, enjoy!
Until next time,
McKenna K.
